Happy Shoes equals Sad Feet and Angry Calves

Tuesday 22nd February 2011

I had my last meeting for work today and since the meetings are only once a month and are with really great people I always like to wear my happy shoes on those days.  Happy shoes are totally impractical and usually rediculously high but ultra awesome shoes that I love to wear!  I have always had a rather large shoe addiction and feel that you can never have too many pairs and there aren't enough happy shoes days in a week!

I knew from the moment I got out of the car this morning to walk the kids into school that my happy shoes were plotting against me but since I was so much taller than my usual 5ft 2inches I felt awesome.  And of course if I was that much taller I am sure I would've looked a lot thinner (well I did in my mind anyway).  I picture myself as a supermodel towering over great heights in awesome shoes and happy clothes (all great brand names in my mind of course - in reality nothing costs more than $10 each)

Anyway when I got back to pick up the kids from school I got a cramp in the top of my shoe which made me walk funny and by the time I got back home and peeled my shoes off my swollen feet they burst out of their restraints at warp speed and doubled their size.  Now 3 hours later my calves feel like I have done about 8 hours of dancing non stop with a 50kg weight pack on.  Here's hoping it actually gives me some muscle definition!!
