Last Days and Mutant Genes

Thursday 3rd March 2011

Woo Hoo I am now officially a lady of leisure!  I must say I did shed a tear this morning when reading all the nice things that my workmates wrote in my farewell card.  I feel very touched that I will be missed!  I even had a customer tell me that life without me is like a broken pencil.  He then went on to say that his favourite words are bastard and son of a bitch so I am not sure how much faith I should have in his first statement!  lol

I feel very blessed to all the people who came and said goodbye, I didn't realise how many people actually cared!!

After all that excitement and the afternoon of waiting at school for dance to finish and arvo tea with great mates I had to end the day down at the doctors.  I finally received my last lot of test results!  I have been diagnosed with extreme awesomeness!!  Just kidding!!  I found out today that I have both mutant genes of a condition called hemochromatosis or I am a homozygote (that sounds sooo much more interesting!!) at least I think that's what it's called.  I am still not sure what it means but it certainly explains a lot of how I have been feeling,  Thank God I am not going nuts after all!!!  I was starting to worry that all this stress was starting to affect my thought patterns and I was thinking up all these symptoms!

I am not sure what the next step will be.  To start with I have to have more blood tests (whoopee - I hate needles!!) to see if my iron stores are still too high and if they are then I have to have blood taken out on a regular basis until the iron levels drop (more needles!!  can't wait.....not!!).  The one thing I am spewing about is that one of the symptoms is weight loss, so why couldn't I get that one!!  I am feeling totally ripped off!  lol

At least I can concentrate on my exercise on a full time basis and work on the extra things on my health.  All I can say is if I have 2 mutant genes when will I get my super powers and become an X-Men!!!!  lol
