Day 311
There's nothing like a power shop! I only started my Christmas shopping yesterday and I finished it all today!! Luckily I didn't have much to get because we are planning our holiday and we decided it would be more fun to go shopping on our adventure.
I had been really stressing about the fact that I hadn't even started and school was almost finished so it is a great load off my mind! I even got to get myself something and pop into the travel agent to sort out some details.
All in all it was a fabulously productive day!!

A Positive Year - Day 310
Day 310
I am loving this heat wave!!
It's been above 30 degrees celsius all week and will continue for the weekend and although I know not everyone likes the heat, I absolutely love it!! I love everything that comes with it too! Swimming, suntans, ice blocks and margaritas!! What is there not to love about summer!
This also means it's getting closer to school holidays and Christmas which is my most favourite time of the year!
Now all I have to do is start my Christmas shopping and I'll be set!!

A Positive Year - Day 309
Day 309
After a busy start to the morning I have decided to go on strike for the afternoon (until the kids finish school anyway).
It has just been one thing after another these past couple of weeks and it has all caught up with me so instead of wearing myself out completely and being exhausted when the holidays start I have decided that this year I won't be falling into the same trap I usually do!
So for today I am going to laze around the pool and soak up the sun and just enjoy this gorgeous warm weather!!

A Positive Year - Day 308
Day 308
Today I had a last minute surprise and didn't end up having to work today. I know I will have to do it tomorrow instead but I have been so busy lately I was grateful for a day of nothing today.
I have been swamped with things that need to be done and it was doing my head in! I know it's just that time of year but it was still good to have a day to catch my breath and try and recharge the batteries a bit before it all starts again tomorrow.
I know there is only two and a half weeks left of this busy period before the holidays are here and I can relax so I am visualising the finish line and a cocktail by the pool!!

A Positive Year - Day 307

Today is the first day I have had off work for a while (well sort of anyway, I still had to go and do some work in the video shop!). But most of the day is a day off and I have a fair bit of work to catch up on around the house.
I do have my youngest one at home from school sick though. It's not anything serious but it was enough to keep her home for the day. I think it is just that time of year where things are a bit busy and they are a bit run down.
Although I have heaps of ironing to do, I am just going to enjoy some time out with my youngest and just chill out. The world can wait another day!

A Positive Year - Day 306

It's been a while since we have had a super lazy Sunday and today it couldn't have been timed better!
My poor big girls isn't feeling very well and had an attack of the vomits so she is happy to be able to chill on the lounge and watch movies. Now that we have caught up on the washing, groceries and the lawns I thing we may join her and chill out while watching a family movie. Even our youngest is a bit quieter than usual because she is tired.
There's only 3 weeks left of school and their batteries are definitely running out so it will be good that they can recharge before tackling the rest of the school year.

The weekend is finally here, I have a day off work and hubby hasn't gone away! This means that I might be able to catch up on some things that I haven't had a chance to over the past few weeks,
We have a lot to do over the next couple of days and I am so grateful that we will have the time to do it! Now we just need some sunny weather so we can get outside to do it and it's looking pretty promising at the moment!

A Positive Year - Day 304

What a fantastic day!!
It started off with two lovely friends and a trip to Gold Class to watch the last movie in the Twilight series. It really is the only way to go to the movies!! Talk about relaxing and stylish!!
After a fancy morning watching an awesome movie I had to go to work for a couple of hours but as I have been working with the loveliest people I really don't mind having to go in. They also gave me the most gorgeous windchime as a surprise present which made me feel extra special!! I shall miss them now that my time has finished there and I look forward to the next time they need someone!
Now it is time to relax with a nice glass of wine while the girls are at their school disco and I pass the pickup duties onto hubby!

A Positive Year - Day 303
Day 303
Today was phenominally busy! I have been on the go since I woke up this morning! So the one thing I am totally grateful for at the moment is the fact that the day is nearly over and I survived it!!
Although it was busy I didn't make any mistakes and I was able to get everything finished that I had to so I am proud of myself that I was able to make it through. Now it is 5pm and I am just having a spot of lunch and putting my feet up and will enjoy the peace and quiet while my girls do their homework.
I now can't wait until tomorrow morning when I can have a nice quiet morning at the movies with some friends before I head back into work for the afternoon!

A Positive Year - Day 302

What a week!! I have been absolutely flat out juggling 3 jobs plus everything else that a mum has to do! Although I am absolutely exhausted I am so grateful that I have work and that it is during school hours.
I don't know how long this workload will keep up as I am filling in temporarily in two positions so at least I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel as far as demands go but I will make the most of the extra income while it lasts!

My head is all over the shop today! I can't seem to remember anything and am tongue twisted and have no idea what is going on!
Because of this I am so grateful for coffee today!! If it wasn't for a bit of a caffeine boost I think I would fall down in a heap!
Luckily I made it through the day at work without any mistakes or anybody noticing my vagueness for the day. I am now looking forward to a good night's sleep so I can be back to normal for work tomorrow!

A Positive Year - Day 300
Day 300
Woo hoo!! 300 days of positivity and I'm still going strong!! And I have plenty of positive things to talk about today!
Firstly, and most excitingly, my hubby has arrived home after a mini holiday to Wagga Wagga to see his family. Us girls have missed him heaps and we are so glad to have him home! And to top it off he has come home to a gorgeous sunny day and he missed all the rain and storms from the weekend.
The other positive thing from today was the lovely lady I met from the Wynnum Herald. They called me last Friday to see if I would talk to them about my experience on the Hot Seat so this lovely lady came out today to take some photos. All I can say is a chair with wheels and hills to not mix very well!! Unless you are ready for an adventure that is!! At least it provided a few laughs for the afternoon!
Now we get to pick up the kids and have a nice relaxing family arvo together! A perfect way to top off the day!

A Positive Year - Day 299
Day 299
How awesome was that storm last night!! We haven't had a good storm like that in years! The lightning show was spectacular!
I know storms can be scary and cause a lot of destruction but when I know everyone I love is safe and sound I can sit back and relax and enjoy the sound of the rain on the roof and the awesome lightning display.
I also have to chuckle watching the kids jump in the really loud claps of thunder. They aren't scared like they were as kids but they do still get startled at how loud it can be and it makes us laugh everytime!
It's in this type of weather we love chilling out together as a family and not going anywhere and this weekend we are making the most of it!

A Positive Year - Day 298

Well it's day two of our girly weekend while hubby is away and we're heading out to do all things girly before we have to come back and do the boring stuff like cleaning.
Although we miss having hubby here I love spending time with my girls just hanging out and doing girly stuff. Time is going way too fast and my girls are growing up way too fast so I want to make the most of it before they're too cool to want to hang out with their old mum!
We don't know exactly what we're going to get up to this weekend but I am sure we will make the most of everything!

A Positive Year - Day 297

After a huge week and with hubby away us girls decided to go out for a little mother/daughter dinner at Sizzler. The girls had never been there before because hubby isn't too keen on it. They hadn't experienced the awesomeness of cheese toast or the excitement of making your own desserts and eating anything you wanted and as much as you wanted!!
I loved watching their reaction to the whole experience! They were in absolute heaven! I don't know if they were more excited about eating what they wanted or by pouring their own drinks and making their own soft serve ice cream!
As for me, I was happy to have the night off from cooking or cleaning. Between work and the excitement of the Hot Seat it has been an absolutely exhausting and exciting week and I am totally wiped out!

A Positive Year - Day 296

I am still on a total high this morning after last night's excitement!!
I can't put into words how excited I was to be able to finally share my game show experience with my girls and to see their reaction to it! I was definitely not disappointed!! They were so excited to hear their names and to watch their old mum make a fool out of herself on tv! Although I must admit I found it hard to watch (I hate watching things of myself). It also brought back all the memories of how nervous I was!! Talk about cotton mouth!! lol.
Anyway the experience was worth every second of nervousness and excitement and I would recommend it to everyone!!

This morning I was up super early with excitement!
I had gotten a message last night that someone had seen the ad for the tv game show that I am going to be on tonight so I wanted to make sure I saw it! My youngest daughter and I have been sitting here for about 45mins waiting and we were not disappointed!!
Even though I know the outcome and I was there at the time, it was so exciting to see her reaction when it was on the tv! I can only imagine what they are going to be like when the whole show airs this afternoon!
I can even overlook the fact that they forgot to use the skinny lens! lol

Today I am one very excited little chicken!!
Finally, 3 months of waiting, I only have one more sleep to go until my episode of the Hot Seat is going to be on air.
I had so much fun on the day of filming and met some fantastic people in the process so I am looking forward to being able to relive it and to share it with my friends. It is so exciting to have something to look forward to! I feel like a kid at Christmas and am sure I won't be able to sleep tonight!!
Don't forget to tune in to channel 9 tomorrow at 5.30pm!

A Positive Year - Day 293

Today, after work, I got to catch up with a lovely friend of mine that I don't get to see very often. It was so lovely that we both had some free time in our busy schedules to be able to do so!
It's not until you get to catch up that you realise how much has happened since the last time you saw each other. The time seemed to go really fast yet it felt like we had only been talking for 5 minutes!!
I just wish I didn't have to leave when I did so we could keep talking!

A Positive Year - Day 292

Last night I went to a friend's house for a barbecue. I haven't caught up with them in ages so it was such a great afternoon catching up on everything that had happened over the past few months! The kids also had a great time because they had not seen each other for as long as us adults!
The past year has gone so fast since we moved that I hadn't even realised how long it had been since we'd seen each other until we got the invite to go over. The good thing about that was that we had plenty to talk about and we never ran out of conversation!!
Now we are up for a quiet Sunday before we have a big week ahead of us! Hubby still has his manflu so that will render him useless until the worst passes so I will spend the day pottering and catching up on things that seem to get overlooked during the busy week.
But before I start anything I need my morning cuppa!

A Positive Year - Day 291

Haha isn't it always the way!! It doesn't rain for months and months and then all of a sudden you plan a barbecue and it pours down!!!
Luckily we are not the types who will let it bother us and we can see the funny side of it.
I have to admit though, apart from the barbecue side of things, it's so nice to see the rain finally come down!! Everything was so brown and dry and really needed a good soaking so it's nice to see. It's also a good excuse for staying inside and taking it easy after a busy week!
I plan to make to most of it while it's here!!

Aaah Friday!
After a busy week I am so glad that today is the last day before the weekend! I am looking forward to having a break this weekend because I am working six days next week and hubby will be away for 4 of them!
I tend to be the type of person who overthinks things and will stress myself out with the anticipation of such a busy week, but I am determined to not fall into the habits of a lifetime and I am going to take each day as it comes! So far so good!
I just hope that I can keep this positive attitude up and not fall into my old ways.

A Positive Year - Day 289

I just made myself a cup of tea after a busy morning at work and it got me thinking. This cup of tea I made tasted just perfect and I was thinking about how many cups of tea I have made in my lifetime and how many have actually made me stop and think how tasty it was. I am not sure if it is how I have made it or the mood I am in that changes the taste.
This probably doesn't make sense to anyone else but I was so excited about the cup of tea I just made that I wanted to share it. Right now I also wish it could be a neverending cup!!
So I will now finish my post so I can sit back and thoroughly enjoy the rest of my cup of tea and relish in the peace and quiet until it is time to go back to school to pick up the kids.

I had a nice surprise today. My friend called me when I was at work and made me go out and get the local paper. In there was a little feature with photo advertising the episode of the game show I am going to be on next Wednesday!
I have no idea how they found out about this or how they got the photo because I don't even have a copy of it!
I can't wait to show the kids!! They have been so excited about the whole thing that it has been worth it just to see their reaction!
Now we have to wait another week to see the show! I can't wait!

A Positive Year - Day 287

Usually on Melbourne Cup Day I will organise a lunch and get all dressed up and have a day out and cross all my fingers and toes in the hopes to pick the winning horse. This year I have decided not to. I have had such a great year that I have decided to have a quiet lunch with a couple of close friends at a cafe that is not putting on a special lunch for race day.
The added bonus is that I didn't get called in to work today so I can really enjoy myself and relax. I also won't have to worry waiting all day for the race to start and then about racing back off to school as soon as the race is finished because it's time to pick up the kids.
The weather is perfect so a nice lunch down on the waterfront is just what the doctor ordered!
To all those people who are betting on the race today I wish you the best of luck!

The cookbook that my recipe was published in arrived in the mail today. Although I knew it would be coming sooner or later, it was still exciting when it finally arrived!
I love getting packages in the mail! It's like being a kid again! The excitement of wondering what it is and who it's from gives you a bit of a buzz, just like opening birthday presents! Even if it is something that I've bought from ebay, I still get excited about it's delivery!
The other thing that I guess that makes it so exciting is that I know the parcel isn't a bill so I don't have to cringe over how much it's going to be. It's just the fun of ripping open the paper and discovering what's inside that I have to worry about!
The cookbook that my recipe was published in arrived in the mail today. Although I knew it would be coming sooner or later, it was still exciting when it finally arrived!

A Positive Year - Day 285
Day 285
It always take a date or something like an anniversary to make you realise how much happens in such a short amount of time.
This weekend I realised that it will be a year next week since we moved into our home. I don't know whether it is the change of scenery or if it's a change in attitude but I can't believe the turnaround in lcuk we have had since we moved here!
So much has happened in the past year that when I think about it that it sends my head into a spin! I am so happy and grateful for what the past year has brought to my and my family. I am looking forward to what is yet to come over the next twelve months! Let the new adventures begin!

A Positive Year - Day 284

I am still half asleep and finding it hard to think about what to write today but we've got a lot on and I don't think that I will get a chance to write anything later.
I love the excitement and anticipation of knowing that you have so many fun things planned. It's always exciting to have something to look forward to. I especially love the kids reactions when they hear about our agenda!
Now I need a coffee so I can be sure to have the energy to last the day! Have a great weekend!

A Positive Year - Day 283

I love Fridays! This morning was especially fun because I got to catch up with a friend that I hadn't seen for a while. How we didn't get banned from the coffee shop for being too noisy I will never know!!
It is certainly an awesome way to start the day! Top it off with happy hour afternoon and it has definitely been a Fun Mum Friday!!

A Positive Year - Day 282
Day 282
This is a good week for fitness for me! I actually got to go to the gym for 2 days in a row!! I haven't been able to do that all year! Today I went to the boxing class, which was a struggle with my dodgy hands but I made it through.
I have really missed the endorphins and energy I get from exercising so I am making the most of it while I can! Who knows I may even back it up this afternoon with a session of Hip Hop Abs!
